Iceland Honeymoon Photos

Exploring Reykjavik on our first day, we stumble onto this amazing rainbow by the Seltjarnanes Lighthouse

Harpa - a beautiful contemporary concert hall in Reykjavik and a homebase for Iceland Airwaves 2015 music festival

Nov4-Nov8: Iceland Airwaves music festival. We saw a wild number of amazing inspiring bands, just to name a few: Vok, Manu Delago Handmade, Geislar (on the photo), Aurora, Alex Flovent

  !!! OUR FIRST AURORA !!!
Seeing just a small tease of greenery, we knew it will be our lucky aurora night!!

The different formations and the movements of aurora are rather robust - there is no identical photo

Every day we were aurora-ready having our "aurora bag" in the trunk of the car fully armed: warm jackets, shoes, sweaters, two layers of warm underwear, and, of course, the tripod!!

Just in case aurora is not dramatic enough - shooting star over Ursa Major

Freezing cold despite many layers of clothing, I was holding my pose for 20sec for this fun photo ;)

Cannot get enough of it!!!

Hitting the road bright and early on the way to explore South Iceland! Well, the sun doesn't rise in Iceland in November until 10am :)

Pink sunrise over lava fields right outside Reykjavik

Approaching Skogafoss Waterfall

The most adorable animal in Iceland - sheep

After endless distraction of the beautiful scenery, we finally pointed our camera to the main attraction - Skogafoss

Greeting to all my New York buddies with jazz hands :)

Enjoying the sun while we can - weather changes in Iceland every 30 min

You know, just another waterfall along the road :)

Terribly cute sheep house on the side of the road

We went to Iceland and landed on Mars! Solheimasandur - black lava ash feels absolutely alien!

Solheimasandur plain crash site. For decades the body of the plain was sitting around as "trash" waiting to be picked up by the US authorities, until it became a tourist attraction ;)

Our ride! White rental car on black volcanic ash - never again, lol!!

Before the rainbow | After the rainbow

Team USA is ready for the snowmobile launch!!

At a mad speed we went over the caldera of the dormant Katla volcano overlooking Eyjafjallajokull

Formerly "Peter's Island" prior to the 2010 eruption of Eyjafjalljokull

Up on top!

Got a serious compliment from our tour guide: "You are the fastest group I've had in months!" ;)

Getting dark and windy - time to go down...

Rainy morning in a quaint town Vik, South Iceland, enjoying the black sand beach

The sun is coming out again - time for another epic photoshoot!!

One last stop before returning to Reykjavik - Seljalandsfoss

From behind of the waterfall

Looks like we are approaching Rejkyavik - moss-covered volcanic rock is on both sides of the road - spooky!

Terribly cute town right outside of Reykjavik - Hafnarfjordur - known for the highest concentration of elves, hidden folks, dwarfs and other amazing creatures

On our last night in Reykjavik, we got another little gift from nature - our second aurora, not as magnificent as the first one, but just as dear and beautiful!

ICELAND, we will be back...

... cause there is no other place like YOU!
